May 2022 - Sicily, Aeolian Islands

A one week (03-10 May) of total immersion in the Italian language visiting the islands of Lipari and Salina. Our days were a combination of Italian classes, walks and interesting visits in the area. Excellent guided tour with Luana of the Lipari Archeological Museum as well as the path of the political prisoners under fascism in Itlay. Beautiful walks with astounding views of the surrounding islands in a nature in full spring bloom. We visited a local producer of capers and a a local winery that combines innovation with tradition in a very elegant way. Lunch and dinner were a daily delight and reminder of how well one can eat in Italy!

August - September 2022- Dolomites with trekking, music and Italian classes

A one week trekking trip in the beautiful Dolomites around Cavalese in Trentino Alto Adige. Some beautiful hikes in the Latemar and Rosengarten Dolomites. Two concerts were highlights of the trip: the Amsterdam Sinfonietta playing with the Latemar in the background and early at dawn, the famous writer Marco Paolini read pages of one of his books accompanied by Alberto Ziotto on the guitar. We spent one day in Trento and got to know all about grappa and cheese production, in particular the local Puzzone di Moena. The weather was on our side and local cuisine on the dinner table every evening. Last but not least we were an excellent little group of enthusiastic hikers!

December 2022 - January 2023 - Napoli, Italy

A one week New Year's trip to Napoli (December 27 - January 3rd 2023) in collaboration with Luca Cesarini. A trip that includes among other things visits of the Castle of Caserta, the island of Capri with Axel Munthe's house, Napoli's catacombs and Fontanelle's cemetery which both tell a very special story of Napoli once upon a time as well as the ancient Pompei settlement. Pasta, mozzarella and wine production will be part of our tour. We have a one hour Italian class every day and we will be treated with local cuisine lunch and dinner. New Year will be celebrated in a very special way, ask for the program of the trip to unveil the surprise!
