Volunteering and trekking

We spend one week working as volunteers in Northern Thailand in an elephant sanctuary. While enjoying the elephants, our responsibilities are mainly coupled to the harvest, washing and preparation of the food for the elephants as well as the cleaning of their shelters. Small building projects and tree planting are also common tasks.

The second week we depart for a 3day trek in the jungle where we get a chance to spend the nights in the local Hill Tribe villages. We then visit Chiang Mai and its temples. A full day Thai cooking class is also part of the experience. Some minor volunteering projects helping village people are often part of the experience.

Language trips - Italy

Language trips to Italy with Luca Cesarini

The trips with Luca are a wonderful combination of discovering the history, the art and the food of a particular region. Olive or grape picking are often part of the proposed experiences. The introduction or the refining of the Italian langauge gives the participants an extra chance to interact with the local people.

Language requirement: the trips do not require any previous knowledge of the Italian language. The Italian classes ( 1hr every morning, plus 1hr during our  meetings before the trip) are based on independent or small group work and the teaching material is adapted to the level of the participants.

The aim of the course is to be familiar with the basic words and phrases needed to communicate in typical tourist-like situations. I also introduce the cultural and historical aspects of the places we visit in Italian using material  with an adapted level of language.
