April 2019 - Massafra e Castellana Grotte, Puglia, Italy

A successful trip with a group of Italian and Italy enthusiasts!

We felt welcome as if in our own home and were treated as long time friends. Visited several very special semi private gardens as well as a wine garden-farm. Assisted at the production of burrata pugliese and visited several small towns such as Locorotondo, Conversano, Massafra, Matera and a few more. To be repeated!

August 2019 - Dolomites with trekking, music and Italian classes

A beautiful week trekking in the Dolomites around Cavalese in Trentino Alto Adige. Pale di S. Martino e Torre di Pisa are some of the areas we have hiked around. The Suoni delle Dolomiti offered us a classical quintet playing by il Rifugio Antermoia in the midst of le Dolomiti del Catinaccio. A real treat! We visited small local producers of cheese and grappa.

One hour Italian preceded a well deserved dinner, and the visit in Trento was led by an English speaking guide! A multilingual experience. A trip to be repeated!

September 2019 - Lugano/Milano

We started with early morning Italian classes to be followed by a full day of visits and activities. Lodging at the Birgitta's monastery we were pampered by the Birgitta's nuns who went out of their way to serve us. Lugano, Como and Maggiore lakes were part of our daily scenery. Villas and gardens on their shores, such as Villa Sherrer, were simply beautiful. In Milano, the industrial hub of Italy, we enjoyed the luxurious Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and of course il Duomo and we were lucky to be able to attend a concert in the world known Teatro della Scala. Excellent lunches during which we tasted regional dishes were our daily treat. Our experience in grape picking made the wine taste even better!
