October 2014 - Panicale, Umbria, Italy

Back with Luca Cesarini and a wonderful group to Panicale feeling at home at Albergo Masolino. Not much olive picking as mother nature has decided otherwise. A fly has destroyed much of the Italian olives...though we participated in the inauguration of the new modern olive press of the area which was accompanied by the best local specialities prepared by the local women! Perugia, Assisi, Castiglione del Lago on the Trasimeno lake and beautiful Orvieto were all jewels of the area. Local crafts such as a cashmere factory and the famous Deruta ceramics were of much interest to us all. Italian morning classes with Marina and a wonderful choice of restaurants by Luca...what a team!
